Annual Exhibition, 8th October 2016
Congratulations from our Chairman
I want to thank all who once again helped make Saturday’s Exhibition the great success it was. Thanks to Alan and his army of willing helpers on the day, both setting up beforehand and clearing up afterwards. Thanks to those who staffed the tea rota and to Stan and Bob for running the Raffle, and a special thanks to Roy for organising the AV show in the small hall.
It was good to see so many members and visitors there especially in view of the unfortunate clash of dates with the SPA Open Competition in East Horsley.
Thanks to all who went to the trouble and effort of producing many attractive and creative panels. Just about every different kind of subject matter was covered with entries from one of our newest members through to our oldest. Credit to all three winners for all of whom gaining one of these awards was a first. Roy Stanbury for his ‘View from Burling Gap’ and Mike Brayne for his ‘Around Greenwich’ were runners-up and David Harford was overall winner for his ‘A Stag’s Story’.
In the vote for Best Print, Kay Fackrell was a runner-up for ‘Polecat’, as was Mike Brayne for his print ‘Re-enactment’. The overall winner was Maureen Hodges for her print ‘Quiet at the Scoop’.
Well done to all these well-deserved winners.
